Dunkeld & District Historical Museum

Henry Frederick Leech served in WW2 as a Bren Gunner in Singapore and Malaya. He became a prisoner of war and put to work in Changi, Mergui and Tavoy, then on the Burma Railway. He supported the Dunkeld Sub Branch of the RSL, serving as President, Secterary and Treasurer. He was awarded one of the league's highest honours in 2003 - The Meritorious Service Medal. In 2003 Henry received Australia Day Recognition and in 2009 was recognised for his community service by being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM).
