Sir Gordon Roy Cameron achieved fame. He was schooled at Dunkeld and later knighted in 1957 for his work as a pathologist in Britain during WW2. He was responsible for plans to protect civilians against germ warfare. He died of heart disease on 7 October 1966 (a cousin of Lin Cameron, soldier settler on Mt Sturgeon Estate).
