Grampians Golf Course opened with12 holes completed, then in 1967 another 6 were finished. The course was officially opened on 29th October 1967 by His Excellency the Govenor of Victoria, Sir Rohan Delacombe. The course, 7km from Dunkeld on the Victoria Valley Road, was opened with 190 foundation members. The opening round was played by Peter Thomson and Kel Llewellyn to a crowd of 600 people.
